The Wee Hours of the Morning

I've already done laundry, made more sweet tea, packed my bags, and wrote in Mom's mother's day card.

And it's only 3:30am!

Why am I awake?  Well I've been awake since about 1:50am.  I decided at around 2:30 that I would just give up on trying to get more sleep and get my stuff going.  I was just laying there thinking of all the stuff I could be doing.

I was hoping to sleep in today since my finals were over yesterday and I am off of work.  I'm going "home" (to my parents' house today and getting a hair cut!

J's breaks were giving him trouble yesterday so he's taking my car to work.  Now I'm riding with Dad home from work at 4am. 

I'm pretty excited about this weekend because....IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!  I'm hoping I got some good camera stuff.  My mom's the greatest present getter but I'm just excited to spend the day with her.  I was born on Mom's Day and now they fall on the same day again!  J said he was ok with doing something for my birthday Sunday night or whenever. 

Well I guess I should get my computer packed up now.  Good morning to everyone else!  Have a great weekend!

More Organization...

So, I love lists and I've got a spring cleaning list and a normal "to do" list and both of them include going through our closets and dressers and reorganizing them all.

Well today I finally finished.  Our closet now looks like a nice closet.  My clothes are organized by color.  Tops on top, bottoms hanging from the bottom!  Shelves have canvas containers holding all need things!  It's so nice.

Also yay for donating!  All clothes that don't fit, that we don't wear, or we just don't like anymore are all in bags being donated to the church!

Saving Money...

So we're not having financial problems but I don't want to get there so any way that we can save money I think it's smart to try to save as much as possible.

So here's the things that I want to do/have done...

• Change lightbulbs to energy efficient bulbs
• Turn water heater temp down
• Water heater blanket
• Keep fans on
• Turn a/c up
• Keep a lamp on if needed instead of big lights
• Curtains to keep light/heat out
• Programmable thermostat
• Swiffer more often so less vacuuming is needed
• Wash clothes in cold water
• Hang some clothes on clothesline
• Growing veggies
• Netflix instead of going to the movies
• Cook more!

So far, we seem to be doing pretty good. Hopefully when we see the bills we will see a difference!

Things I'm Loving

So today I'm loving a lot of things...

• My dad--Today he turns 50! I love Mom too!
• Sam's Club!--J and I stocked up the house today!
• Shaving Sassy (I didn't get to do her underside but she loves it and I think it's already cut down on the pet hair tumble weeds)
• My husband--Last night I had to go to a musical performance for school and he came with!  It was a great performance but it was nice that he came also.
• My garden of blooming flowers.  I love all of them.  Some plants my grandmother gave me so I wasn't sure what they would look like and it's a great surprise to see them!
• Cleaning--I've made a list for spring cleaning, I've made a list for things I'd like to do to our house.  And today...I'm cleaning!
• Donating--I'm going through our closet.  It's a horrible process (mostly because I can't fit in a lot of the clothes and I'm just giving them to others)  But they need it.  We're donating to the church so that makes me feel better.
• Getting rid of things--Today I went through the buffet drawers.  It's really a dresser but I refinished it....I went through all 6 drawers and cleaned a lot of stuff out.  I'm working my way around the house!
• Organizing--I started with the freezer, then fridge, then pantry.  Kitchen is done!  Dining room...done!  Living room...done!  Guest bedroom...done!
• Master bath...done but want to add a shelf
• Hall bath--done organizing but want to paint and hang new shower curtain
• Office---It gets done and then I have a project.  I'm determined though.
• Master bedroom---why do I put this off?  Is it because no one sees it?  I don't know but it's the next project!

Wow....a post of nothing, of everything, of me rambling on and on and on some more!

Bad Pet (OWNER)!

I feel so bad right now about my little kitty.  Well she's not a little kitty, she's 15 years old!

She's always shed her hair in the spring/summer but never like this.  This year, she got some mats in her hair.  I didn't realize either!  Such a bad pet owner. 

Then I was cutting some of the mats out...and cut a small spot on her skin.  She didn't care though...I think she likes the hair short!!

So now I'm getting some clippers and going to town on her fur!  Which will help with some of the shedding and all the time I spend picking hair up and stuff!

I'll post a picture of how funny she looks later!

Another Thursday

Right now isn't the best of times since my neighbor has a friend blaring from a running truck outside of our window.  Ugh!  I just wanted to take a nap because I've been so busy lately.

So I guess I have a lot to do.  Wow!  Last night I cooked roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, dinner rolls, and apple dessert! We invited another couple over to eat. 
I took the advice of Katie from HyperHomemaker and made sure everything was picked up before we went to bed.  This morning it was so nice to wake up and just get ready and leave.  I've been trying to keep our house ready for drop in guests also!  It's so nice!

It's Been A Few Days

This past weekend was busy and full of family, love, and laughter. It was great to have a 3-day weekend and see everyone and enjoy not being on the run all the time.

Now it's back to real life.  It has been for a few days now.  Luckily, I got out of class early last night and got a lot of things done.

• Baked 2 batches of cookies (peanut butter and sugar)
• Swiffered
• Laundry
• Dishes
• Cooked supper
• Started supper for tonight...(pot roast in crock pot)

Then this morning I was supposed to get up and get groceries but that didn't really work out.  I had to do some photography work stuff and now I'm going to take a shower, get ready for school, and we have a field trip this afternoon.

Tonight we're having another couple come over for dinner.  I'm excited because it's 2 of my closest friends from school and we enjoy hanging out!

Master Bathroom: It's Finished...{For Now}

Ok. So the color is a grayish/blue.  It looks so much more bright blue in the pictures.  I'm not crazy!  It's really pretty!
{Excuse the UGLY light.  It's going to be replaced...One day!} {A white cabinet will be over the toilet to house the cleaning wipes, etc} {Don't yet know which pictures to put in the frame, but the frame is covering some spots in the wall}

So Tuesdays are my worst day.  School from 730am-9pm with a break for lunch.  but I've gotten a lot done on this "break".

A Productive Monday?

Well it's a little after 8am (wow, I need to hurry!) and I've already...

• Attempted fixing my hair but realized the weather is gross and a pony tail is much more fitting!

• And realized that J left his cell on the counter this morning (he was too interested in breakfast!)

The weather is gross....rainy, muggy, hot, humid...pretty much typical Louisiana weather.  I've got 3 classes this morning and then work this afternoon. 

Supper is going to be easy and I might even make some muffins for class in the morning!

The Office

So I've been trying to get the office organized and here is the start of it.  The desk was free and I re-finished it and replaced the hardware.  DH and I put the shelves up and I added all my organization stuff.  I'm determined to keep it that way.
Here's a close up of the organization stuff.  Boxes to help keep stuff together and binders for all my school stuff!

J made this book shelf and we've started layering the books on.  Most of them are school books, of which I need to list online to sell!
Then there is my sewing/extra desk (with old chair).  And the peg board that I spray painted and still need to hang out the wall above this desk!   And the curtain that I sewed!
Just a few extra details, my latern lamp on the desk and my new picture frame that I want to put a spring picture of the hubby and I in!

Cleaned Corolla!

So it was TIME to clean the car.  I washed the outside, the inside, and vacuumed everywhere!

Here is what it looks like now.  Excuse that paper.  I've got a coozie and a container with anti-bacterial wipes in the cupholder.

In the back seat...nothing!

And the trunk has an umbrella, an organizer with different types of shoes that I need during the week (farm, work, school, rain, etc), and a jacket because it's Louisiana and weather can change any minute!
